Subnet Music Project
š„ Iām Joining The Subnet Music Project @ DEF CON 33!
Hacker Summer Camp is about to get a whole new frequency. Iām excited to announce that Iāve joined The Subnet Music Projectāan experimental mashāup of music and networked art running during DEF CON 33. Itās a distributed audio experience, powered by locating nodes around the con that deliver tracks from highāprofile artists in the hacker community.
šØ Whatās it all about?
- Think of it as an underground DEF CON playlist: speakers hidden around the venue or Las Vegas, each streaming curated tracks to ācompile the full playlistā as you discover them .
- Itās not an official con projectābut itās aligned with the DIY spirit of Hacker Summer Camp and DEF CON: locate, connect, hang, share .
- Artists include folks from the DEF CON art/music sceneāyouāll want to watch for the legit SSID and join the hunt .
š§ Why Iām excited to be involved:
- Iāll be contributing an exclusive track to the project. If you want to check it out, this is the only place you can get it.
- This project is a perfect collision of music + hacking: stealthy distribution, network discovery, live interaction, creative expression.
š How to get involved:
- Head over to the official gateway page: TheSubnetMusicProject website
- Scan for the projectās SSIDs at DEF CON
- Plug in your ears, let the playlist unfold as you move.
- Share your experience (or hidden node location) on Mastodon/Twitter with #TheSubnetProject or drop in at DEF CON Social channels for traction .
Letās turn DEF CON into a soundscape as wild and unpredictable as its attendees. Iām honored to be part of this cyberāpunk network art. If you find me in the playlist, say hiāor track me down IRL in Vegas, if you can. š
Stay tuned. Hack the music, hack the world.
